About Kat McCurdy, RD

Kat is a registered dietitian specializing in nutrition therapy for athletes and people with eating disorders. She currently manages the first comprehensive sports nutrition program for Holy Names Academy Rowing and provides sports nutrition care to athletes in the Seattle Pacific University Athletic Department. In the past, Kat worked for two years at a partial hospitalization eating disorder center in Seattle after completing her dietetic internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital sites in Manhattan. She has received over 1,200 hours of supervised clinical training in Medical Nutrition Therapy at Weill-Cornell Medical Center, Columbia Presbyterian, and Westchester Behavioral Health Hospitals.

In practice, Kat takes a weight-neutral, non-diet, trauma-informed approach to help people overcome eating disorders. She is passionate about helping her clients cultivate the tools and confidence to build a sustainable, joyful relationship with food and movement based on their individual goals and values.

As a competitive athlete through high school and into college, Kat personally understands the demands of competitive sports, and the role nutrition plays in an athlete’s success. During her first two years of college Kat was a Division 1 cross country/track and field athlete before an injury sidelined her running career. She now enjoys yoga, hiking, skiing, and helping others keep/find joy in movement and their sport!

When Kat is not in the office or engaging in joyful movement, you can find her spending time with friends, exploring the PNW, or curling up with a good book.
